L-66, UK, Lancashire
Hi
Im just putting the feelers out at the moment, my L-66' are breeding pretty constantly and would like to make contact with poeple who are interested in some of the young.
at the moment the male is guarding a 3rd Batch, from the first two batches i have 48 youngsters currently between 20 and 40mm in length.
Im sure my LFS will take some off me but i remember how long it took me to get a group of these together so thought i would offer on here incase there are pleco fans on here from the NW who are stuggling to find L66s.
send me a message or email if your interested.
Thanks
Dave

I'm interested, but it'd be a while before next time I'd be in that area.

Mats - feel free to discuss with Dave T, as i might well be able to do another "callichthys style pick-up" in the next month if you are really keen.MatsP wrote:I'm interested, but it'd be a while before next time I'd be in that area.

Thanks for offering to help, that would perhaps be a possibility.
Dave, you haven't put a price on your fish - that would probably help those who may want your fish to decide if they are "within financial reach" or not...

Daniel,
Sure, I'd be happy to house your fish for a few days - or pick up fish from you if you decide to go pick them up.

Re: L-66, UK, Lancashire
i honeslty have no idea of value of these little beauts, the adults i paid between 18 and 25 pound a piece for, when they were obtainable by the average LFS.
i was thinking they should bring £5-10 at 2"+ but that may take a while. if there is interest in taking them smaller then please message me with offers as i havent got a clue on the values really. im not gonna give them away but at the same time i dont want to feel like im ripping anyone off.
Ill try to get a decent camera to get some pics of adults and lil ones.

Hi,
I would definitely be interested in taking some of the L66's off you and i only live in southport so picking them up wouldn't be a problem.
You could either give us some prices by PM or on this forum.
Thanks
Col.

I'd certainly prefer a price in public. It lets everyone know where things are at.evesonevo wrote:Hi,

Re: L-66, UK, Lancashire
Hiya
ok £5 per catfish when they get to 2".
are you guys wanting them when they get to 2" or would you prefere to be buying them as they are now?
i guess buying them now price can be £2.50 each but at least 4 i dont wont to be fishing about in the tank for a couple of quid.
I havent had chance to visit my LFS this weekend but plan on emptying a tank so that i can seperate the adults and young.

Re: L-66, UK, Lancashire
Hiya Col
main food is Tetra Prima, with various frozen food thrown in once a day, bloodworm, shrimp based discus mix, i put in hikari algae wafers in every other day or so.
I feed morning (before work) tea time (when i get home and before i put the lights on) then at night after lights out. theres nearly always food in the tank for the young ones who gather on the bogwood and slate where the food settles.
I havent checked water parameters for a while so ill do that one evening next during the week and post the results.
when would you like to come and get them?
Thanks
Dave

I'm happy to take 6 of them at current size too - subject to Richard being able to house them for a few weeks [hopefully a bit less time than the Callichthys, ok?]

Re: L-66, UK, Lancashire
Yes they are fantastic little fish. My mate who was "sniffing" after them has already phoned about tomorrows game of footie & asked how they are doing!
I'm not happy at the moment as the breeding trap they were in overnight has been 'attacked' & they all escaped into the Jag's tank which i've just had to strip down to catch Mats' fish - thankfully none were eaten but she is well fed - phew!

Mine seem to be. I rarely see more than one or two at any given time, but I'm sure they are all there still.
