Royal pleco and acrylic

I heard from a website that if you pput a royal pleco in a acrylic tank it will dammage the material,and its lip will bleed.Is this true? I was plannig on kepping a tank with convicts,and firemouths and rams with a royal pleco.

Royals eat wood for a living and would definitely scratch the acrylic so stick with glass.

These would ruin the inside of your acrylic tank.

They eat wood?I thought they were omnivores.

Wood is major part of their diet (xylophagy) but they will dabble in everything so they are omnivores.
