my untrained eye tells me you have 4 males, 2 females and 1 questionmark, which could go both ways.

but i'm usually far off when sexing Hypancistrus species, and L260 is definately not the most easiest species to sex from this genus!

okay they all have white bellies, it should be 1m/6f. i hope this turns out to be true.

so what exactly are you looking at to determine this? also if you are correct then that whole white belly thing is totally false.

Oh... sorry, I didn't see that you've been in that tread.

I think the image is good to compare with!

Perhaps the small one is a bit to young to determine the sex.

yeah the heads on those two look the same. the body is different but that is becuase the female is rip with eggs. i am so confussed.

no i had him ship them to me and so as you can figure he sexed them for me.

That's what I meant, you end up getting them from him.. I don't think you would travel that far to get those.. :wink:

yeah i am sorry i miss read your comment. yes i got them for jeff and they have white bellies and since i cant tell the difference i guess i couldnt expect him to. i couldnt have done better myself.

My L260 all had white bellies but eventually they began spawning. Some developed belly patterns after 2+ years.
You really can not go by the belly patterns as sex indicators.
