hi i want to buy two zebra plecos of breeding size and age from two different sources to ensure i don't inbreed, if anyone is selling any in the Nottingham area or within 20 miles of Nottingham then could you please get in contact with me
i have bred ancistrus with success but i now wish to breed some of these lovely fish i am not in a postion to buy just at the moment but will be on the market for them at the start of next month on the condition i am still employed
i will be setting up quite a large tank for the pair compirsing of small gravel large stones drift wood and a selection of caves , with a fast flowing current and a good amount of airation
it will only be these fish in the tank although i might get a few ottos to keep the glass clean i don't think that the ottos would go for the eggs and im sure if they did the male zebra would kick otto ass lol
i can set up this tank quite quickly as i have aged filter media ready and have a supply of active tank water ph 7.0-7.5 ,ammonia 0 , nitrate and nitrites at the right levels one is 0.25 and the other is 0.00 the one that is o.25 is the right one not the lethal one if you get what i mean the water is quite soft thanks
where can i buy zebra plecos privately in nottingham?

You should join the board at zebrapleco.com, our sister site. These fish are relatively difficult to find, so you're going to want to plan to be patient. You should also read the discussions on stocking and tank companions, to give you a better idea for what can be a problem or not, and what can handle the temperatures zebras would enjoy. Hope this helps!
IMO there is no "safe" measure of ammonia or nitrites. A cycled, adequately filtered tank will read 0 for both. If they don't, you definitely shouldn't add fish to them, and definitely not fish that cost as much as your house payment ;).
