We also have a Tank 4,which only have a pair of N.brichardi.for a safe of carfishes and agresivnes of this cichlids
we are not keeping any bootom diggers 
All my tanks contains sand as a substrate,because most of my cichlids are digger.very peacefull but diggers.so it is easier for them and corys and plecs love it anyway.
water chemistry is Kh 1,Gh 2,Ph 6.0,even less
