PLEASE ID WC Cory

Post by Plecofanatic1989 »

Hi all.
We got these cories in last week and I would appreciate an ID. My manager and I always order "oddball" cories from the fish order sheet at work because the people working at the distributor dont know anything about Corydoras (or any loricariids for that matter). We ordered C.agassizii and got these. I wanted to buy them immediately, but didn't have any cash. I've never seen anything like them before. I searched the Cat-eLog under all genre of callichthyids, but found no match. Sadly, I went back two days later to find that all but one had died. I bought the last one and it died a few hours later. This week we ordered C.agassizii, C.punctatus, and C.metae. We're hoping for some REAL oddballs (fingers crossed!). Normally we only order C.paleatus, C.aeneus, and C.sp."albino" and sometimes one other species, so three is unheard of!
Thanx for any and all suggestions.
Josh

Note: The black spot on the dorsal fin was border on both sides (above and below) by white. This did not show up too clearly in the photos. The second picture is of a dead cory I found in the tank with the last survivor.

So, these were juveniles? And the juvies look different from the adults? Understood.
Ok. Thanx Jools! :-D
