Unknown Asian?

Post by toddnbecka »

Unfortunately, I don't have a pic, was just at an lfs and saw something listed as an "Asian catfish" for $13.99. It was about 3" long, somewhat similar in shape and color to a channel cat, but with long barbels more like a Pimoledus. Can anyone point me toward pics of something similar to this description? I asked how large it grew, between the price and general length of the barbels I suspected around 12". The answer was vague, and I was told it also depended on the tank size the fish was kept in (uh-huh, haven't we all heard THAT one before...).

Not a redtail, eyes were smaller and the head wasn't quite as flat. The redtails eyes are set higher/flatter in the pic of the juvie. The general body shape was similar though, long and slender.
