The head and body don't seem dorsoventrally flattened enough to me for Pseudolithoxus.

Sorry bud only reason ive said it is because The cat-elog has it's max size at 4inches.

So one of you had to be wrong and my firt thought would be to trust in the Cat-elog.

Sorry for the confusion si :-X

The size in the Cat-eLog is identical to Fishbase, which implies that's where the data may have come from.

The Cat-eLog is using the "Standard Length" measure, which for a number of reasons do not include the actual tail-fin. Bear in mind that a 100mm (4") fish without tail may well be a good 125-150mm/5-6" with tail.

If anyone has some good data, either as a clear photo with a fish next to a tape-measure or ruler, showing that it's noticeably larger than 101 mm, or a book/website or reliable nature that has a greater number, I'd be happy to fix it up [subject to Jools fixing the bug that makes it impossible to edit Cat-eLog pages at this time].

Hi!
4'' is standard length for the fish which would make it about 5'' with the tails, measurement taken from the description
Now the older the fish is, the bigger it is!!!

Still 8-9 inches seems way to big for that species that would make a 20cm long fish and it is actually the size of Pseudolithoxus anthrax and Pseudolithoxus nicoi ( a bit smaller with ~15cm)

Pseudolithoxus dumus does not exceed 12-13cm for sure!!!
And the fish pictured is P. dumus
Cheers
