Re: Sultan L264 breeding
L264 is not so hard to breed if having a couple, they are mature from around 11-12 cm SL. There have been written articles about L. cf galaxia and their breeding behaviour, L264 share the same and are just slightly more difficult/easy. They give between 40 upp to more then 100 fry each spawn depending on their size, I have not bred any fully grown yet but they have produced from 45 up to 80-90 fry each time.

Awsum what temp do you keep the water?
I suppose they use caves to spawn?
What sort of turn over rate does the tank have?

Simon, you have not put your location in your profile but I suppose you dont read swedish, I have not wrote any article about Leporacanthicus species yet because ther are some already...not on PC yet unfortunatly.
The temp is kept between 28-30 C, soft water and pH neutral or little lower, they are cave spawners like all "Plecos", turnover is not needed to be heavy but keep the oxygen level high trough good water movements.

How big is your breeding tank? What do you feed them?

Breeding tank 200L. 26-27 degree C.
Heavy feeding with tubifex and bloodworms and drop conductivity from 1000 microsimmens(my tap water) to 200 - bring to spawn.
