what spotted pleco am i?
Pleco ID needed. These are f1 babies around 2.5 inch TL. Parents were purchased as L471. Are they L471? Or are they L201, L201 big spot, or Contradens? The parents are max 4 inch TL. I've had the parents for 2 years now and remained about the same size.

Where in Dallas are you located? What are you using to treat your water? Is this a new house or an old house? Are the 75 and 29 gallons old tanks of yours?

Re: "Expert," maybe not.
I guess I've been lucky with not killing fish directly during water changes mainly because I pre-treat my city water in 55 gallon barrels along with using a whole house filter for my fish water. What I have done is flood my fish room so many times that I've lost count.

Re: Micracanthicus vandragti L280
Barbie,
Do you have any recent pics of the Black and White Hypancistrus to show? Adult sizes are only 3.5 to 4 inches TL is what I remember. I'm not sure where some of yours are from. They were received as 136B many years ago.
So it is possible those you have are L201 dwarf.

I've been pretty lucky. I keep my group of 8 262 in a 20 gallon Long and they haven't killed anyone. There's also a dozen or so babies in there that are between 3/4 ot 1.5inches. Barbie, you will have no problem replacing those type of Hyps soon.

Thanks Mats,
I probably should rephrase that and not imply the Ban being lifted but more species allowed. The guy posting is a local retailer and I'm not sure where he got his info. He may just be saying more species "allowed" like you said.
