Re: Corydoras osteocarus available anywhere?
Hello all, I never followed up on any of the above discussion. I had to take a little break, but now I'm looking at jumping back in. So, my question is what's changed in the last couple of years? Any new sources of the more rare Corydoras sp.? I'd still like to find a group of osteocarus and some ...

Re: Catfish in need of good homes
Hi AWUGOD, I would be interested in the plecos if you might consider seperating them from the corys and featherfins. My profile here on planetcatfish still has me located in Mass. but in reality I live near Charlottesville, Va, I moved last Nov. I've just posted pictures of my tanks and some of my ...

Re: Corydoras osteocarus available anywhere?
You're right, I've thought about that. I went hoping there would be some there. I did get some oiapoquensis. I didn't become aware of the convention until just before it started. I've actually been interested in finding some for a few years, and posted about it here: http://www.planetcatfish.com ...

Re: Otocinclus Breeding
A combination of James' good stock and my dumb luck has led to some fry in my tank. Right now there are two about 3/4" and two 1/8" fry in a net breeder on my one and only tank. If I can get to them before the rainbows I'll try to raise any others that show up. Other than feeding zucchini and Ken's ...

Mr. Fuller,
I'm not sure I can make it to Cleveland, but I'd try my best to arrange the trip. You are coming from England afterall!

Re: Planted substrates with dwarf cories
heya, I've just bought a larger tank which I want to make a planted tank. I'll be transferring over my fish some of which are dwarf cories. Could you please let me know if any of you have had experience with the dwarfs and any other type of substrate other than sand? I'll need the planted substrate ...

Re: Tank redecoration
If you can keep your filter running on the temporary tank, you should be ok. When you replace the substrate and decorations, you'll lose some bacteria. To make up for this you may set up an additional filter for a couple weeks on your current tank. Then when you move the fish to the temporary tank ...

Re: Catfish Convention
I wish I could make it Friday night (and Saturday), but there is no way. I'm still not 100% sure I can make it on Sunday.
Will the fish types be sold together, i.e. all the synos, then the cories, then the loracids etc.?

Re: Catfish Convention
I’m going to try to get there for the auction on Sunday, hopefully someone will be selling some interesting corydoras.
Could someone with experience describe the auction process for those of us who are new? Just some suggestions to help things go a little smoother.

Re: Planted Aquarium Lighting
Hello I was wondering whether I could instead of buying expensive aquarium lights could I use flourescent lighting from a Home depot for a 36" aquarium. Thanks folks, I like the water bottle idea. I've tried a food tablet on a dish a couple of times but a couple times the catfish knocked it off the dish, and the last time, the tablet was still there the next morning, but as I lifted the dish about 2/3 of the snails came off. I gave up after that. I ...

So far I just have the tank, 78 gallon. It will be planted and decorated with wood. The other inhabitants will be about 100 cardinal tetras, thats it. It's going to be a couple of months before I can set up the tank so it's just in the planning stage :) . (I have fish already just not in that tank ...

Well, instead of the similis, I went with these little guys. I think they will be a better fit in the 5.5g anyway. It started out as a group of six habrosus and two pygmaeus, but one of the smaller habrosus didn't make it. I would have got bigger groups, but this was all they had. I've got four more ...

I knew somebody would post a reply that would cost me money. They only have four of them so I?ll only be out about $60. I really don't mind paying that much for a fish, just want to make sure that I can't do better. Are they pretty common in your area? Does this fish have any unusual needs? Thank you.

Corydoras similis question.
I was in a store today and they had four Corydoras labeled as ?Blue Cories? that I believe were similis. Has anyone else seen them labeled this way? Also how common are these fish? They had them priced at $15 each because they were supposedly rare. I don?t mind paying that if it?s truly the case ...

Could the fish in these pictures be corydoras cf_sanchesi? I originally had 4 of these but over the last 6-8 years I've lost all but one. A corydoras safe snail eater?
I've got a 75g commnunity that contains rainbowfish, corydoras - including pygmaeus, some kuhli type loaches, a couple SAE's along with many snails that I'd like to get rid of. Would I have any trouble adding a dwarf chain loach to this set up to clean out some snails? I ask because I have recently ...
