Help with ID of my corydora please.

I looked through the cat-e-log and can't quite put my finger on it.

Re: Finding the culprit.

Interesting enough, when I went back to the lfs, all the other alfbns were dead also. They looked ok, hence the reason I bought one. I spend a great deal of time looking at the fish before I purchase.

That said I have had issues with various loaches and long fins also.
Which tetras have you noticed nipping fins? So I can steer clear.

Re: Finding the culprit.

I also quarantined the ALFBN last night and today when I got home from work, there weren't any fins left and it has died. Anything else that could have caused this?

Finding the culprit.

I purchased an ALFBN yesterday. It acclimated well and was doing great. This evening I was looking at it and its fins had been chewed to just about nubs. I have an A. Triradiatus and a reticulated botia in a 29 gallon along with community fish (red rasboras, lemon tetras, neon tetras, green tetras ...

I have seen fish just like yours being sold as L333. That does'nt mean that they are but I have 4 of them and that's what the invoices say from 2 different suppliers. Sometimes you need a dozen so they can sort themselves out when there are similar species and natural variations within each species ...

Lasiancistrus, ancistrinae or ...?

I looked through the entire cat-elog and the entire transfish database and couldn't match him to any plecs. Can someone please help me? http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b259/1killer1liter/funkyj1313/funkysfish/coolplec1.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b259/1killer1liter/funkyj1313/funkysfish ...

Thanks for the help and suggestions. Water aeration is provided by an 802 powerhead at the surface with a an Optima pump feeding it. On the opposite side at the bottom of the tank there is another 802 powerhead and in the middle, lower portion of the tank there is a 501 powerhead. Surface agitation ...

L190 still breathing fast

This weird condition that my L190 has had for about a month now still has me puzzled. He isn't hiding as much (which makes me feel a little more comfortable), I haven't seen him eat in a month (he must be eating something to still be alive), nothing wrong with his body; i.e. fungus, sores or ...

If its bloat, which it could be, because of the diet, you could try an Epsom salt bath. Its a natural laxative and should help with bloat.

Like matsp said, the diet needs some veggies in it. Bloat is also called 'boring diet syndrome'.

L190 acting strange

It's been for the last 2 weeks he has been near the surface and in a corner. This isn't his normal behavior. He doesn't go crazy for the veggies like he used to. He has a round belly and is gasping. I added some aquarium salt (20%) to see if that might aid him in a bowel movement if he's bloated and ...

I feed frozen bloodworms 1 or 2 days (not consecutively) of the week and frozen brine shrimp the next week 1 or 2 days (not consecutively) of the week. Lost my albino anistrus sp.5

My wife called me when she got home and the albino ancistrus sp.5 died. I noticed it had been acting different for the last 2 weeks but the water parameters have been ammonia-0, nitrite-0, nitrate-5-10, ph-7.2, temp.-80-82F. I saw he had a big belly for quite some time. I just thought he was getting ...
