I would say so.

It's clearly not L204 which has a similar colouration, which can be differentiated on eye-size, and the L129 has fairly big eyes, whilst L204 being a Panaque doesn't.

I have seen fish just like yours being sold as L333. That does'nt mean that they are but I have 4 of them and that's what the invoices say from 2 different suppliers. Sometimes you need a dozen so they can sort themselves out when there are similar species and natural variations within each species. It gets very frustrating especially given the prices they go for. Regardless of what they are one can hope for at least a pair to form as they are all attractive plecos.

You can barely make out the plec in the background, but that is a L333. I have 2 of them and they are very different from this guy (L129).

Thanks matsp and apistomaster.

Just as it should be. I buy a lot of fish on-line and its more of a "you pays your money you take your chances." I have a friend who is opening a new store in nearby Spokane and she knows her plecos so even though it''s 2 hour's away I'll be able to get the right fish. This region has not had any fish specialty shops for many years so internet shopping is the only way to get the more desirable fish. I've had some real coups but just as many fiascos on-line.
I have had at least 5 different plecos sent as L333 and out of 15 only 4 were L333 and some have been L129 which should cost half as much as L333. Same with L066 out of 15 I have maybe 6 real L066. The only thing identified 100% from what I ordered has been 12-L260. If I only was a collector the variety would be fine but I'm trying to set up breeding groups. I did get 20 Oil Cats but they are hard to confuse with any other catfish. Pretty soon I will get the rest of my colonies filled out with the correct species.

Hi!

The eyes are not big enough to be L129 that is for sure!!

L270 has to be the best identification

Cheers
