congradulations!, you've got some happy cories. All the eggs in the tank have a chance to hatch, but of course not all of them will, only a percentage are actualy fertilized. I had an Oto like this I got with some other more "common" otos, the main difference I was able to see was the large eye, and it seemed to be nocturnal. I think they are labeled as affinis because they are all caught and shipped together, and 99% are affinis.

The grocery store next to my house sells flash frozen zucchini which I've used with my otos. they seem to eat it from the middle out. and I remove it when its just a ring.

And the old fashion screw with a string tied to it to keep it down.

Promoting algae

I've recently set up a new tank, for the first time with a sand base. After adding a the first few fish I got a good bloom of brown algae(diatoms). I got some ottos to clean that up and absolutly love them, I can't belive common plecos exist in the trade when this fish that never gets over 2 inches ...

I really like the 2 types of gravel overlapping, how is that working for you? Is it hard to keep like that with the corries digging aroud everywhere?

Whats the small grass comming up between the gravel in the 3rd picture?
