Re: Microsynodontis chrystyi
I am getting mine from Toyin (rehobothaquatics.com); I expect them being shipped my way this week. Toyin lists them as M. cf. chrystyi. I agree with you that it's not a given that the fish have been identified correctly. Before placing the order I checked with Toyin because I thought I might end up ...

Microsynodontis chrystyi
I'll be receiving a group of Microsynodontis chrystyi this week. Is there somebody out there with first-hand experience with these guys? Thanks.

CEfire, good thinking with regard to the rebeli! You are right: rebeli can be found in Cameroon, but unfortunately I couldn't find any online sources that would put this species into Barombi Mbo. Anyways, do you know of any sellers of rebeli? Silurus, thanks for the note. I did an extensive online ...

Synos in Lake Barombi-Mbo, Cameroon
Recently, I changed the setup of one of my 125G tanks to house cichlids from Lake Barombi-Mbo in Cameroon. Do you know of any synos that are endemic to that lake? Thanks.

Petricola (???) on AquaBid, please help identify
This might very well be a silly question. There is a group of six petricola up for sale on Aquabid ( http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?fwcatfish&1139504897 ). I'm keeping a pretty large selection of various synodontis, NOT including petricola. To my uneducated eye the fish on ...

Right now there is only a trio of brichardi and a few S. multipunctatus in the tank. The multipunctatus I could move to a different tank, if you think that might be wise?! Sounds like you are recommending to keep only one specimen (as opposed to a small group) of the granulosus in the tank, correct ...

Syno granulosus
I'd like to add some Syno granulosus to my 125G Tanganjika tank. How many granulosus can a 125G hold? (I realize it might take a while to actually find some granulosus for sale by reputable sellers). Thanks.

Crocodile Island Syno
I don't mean to re-start a discussion from last July but: there is a Syno "Crocodile Island" up for sale on AquaBid. Could anyone please take a look and confirm my suspicion that this is S. polli? Thanks.

Microsynodontis sp. polli
Is there any information on breeding Microsynodontis sp. polli that goes beyond the microsynodontis info posted in Cat-eLog in 2003? Thanks.

Hi! New member
Hi All! I'm Janos, and I just signed up for this forum. Thought I quickly introduce myself. I live in Lincoln, NE, and my primary interest is in cichlids and catfish from West Africa. Currently, I keep the following catfish: Synodontis angelicus Synodontis schoutedeni Synodontis nigriventis ...
