I was just wondering if anyone has ever used a S.A. mouthbrooder as a host, like a Geophargus?

Fergo,

That is a common bristlenose, the branches are normal and I think they come with age.

Ian, I understood that was mainly wanting to know what the catlog meant by the plates and caudal fin? I belivie they are Zygatus due to the stripe has a irredesense and they look just enough different in the shape of the head and mouth region. Rabauti vs Zygatus

I got a batch of Rabauti and think some may be C. Zygatus.

Could someone explain about the stripe in simple terms the catalog mentions something about plates at the caudal fin?

Also do the Zygatus have a darkish patch on their sides where the rabauti don't??

Thank you very much, Herman63

Thanks to everyone this has helped.

looking at them have decided they are Rabauti. By the way these are wild caught.

The ones in question really are the smaller ones in the group and don't really have the orange as yet.

Jools, My point was if there were no domesticated angelfish, and you wanted an angelfish you would have to buy a wild angelfish. There would always be hobbiest that wanted wild but the general public just wants an angelfish. What if all the domesticated angelfish were replaced by wild ones? As far as ...

Sorry James but I have to put my 2 cents in. I can't see the problem if a hobbiest wants to keep so called hybrids doesn't that mean less wild fish needed from the wild.... The domesticated angelfish probly has lessoned the number of wild altums taken from the wild and isn't that a good thing? As ...

From what I have read I believe they are scatters, they may use a cave but they still scatter the eggs in the cave. So if no caves they may just scatter in a corner or behind a rock.
