L134 Sexing
Hi, I have this group for a while now, raising from fry, except the 'male'. They've been together, however, there is no sign of breeding at all. The 3 fish have occupies their own caves, except one always hiding in drift wood even though there is an empty cave. Could it be that the other 2 that ...

Hi All, My Longfin seems to be unwell. There is a white patch near the tail. It's sort of small white tiny bubbles. http://www.plecoplanet.com/forum/photoplog/images/1218/1_IMG_20160328_220741.jpg There's another Bristlenose that seems to develop the same thing in a different tank. Perhaps it's ...

Re: Synodontis Multipuntatus fry
When I used to breed these, I left them in the cichlid mouth until free swimming. Sometimes they get too big and hard to take out from the cichlids. Best food is fish egg. They hatch before the cichlids and devour them. The growth rate is amazing. I never stripped them like you. It's interesting to ...

Is the fat one male/female?
It's very hairy which I think is a male even though it's fat.
Thanks

Re: bristle nose pleco babies albino?
Your male definitely has albino gene.
Green dragon is marble?
Don't quote me on this as I'm not too familiar with the concept.
But it's something like this:
X=normal/marble gene
Y=albino
your male would be XY
your female would be YY
offsprings would be XY (25%), YY (25%), YY (25%), YY (25%).

Hi, I'd like your opinion to confirm the sex of this L066, please: It's about 12cm/5inch, a few years old. My thought is a male. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-_kc3urT-lb0/VGsyRMok7II/AAAAAAAABuA/ztvlSYStMjU/w329-h585-no/IMG_20141118_191216233.jpg But the rounded genital makes me doubt... https ...

Re: L027c?
Hi all, Thanks for the replies. I'm amazed that you could identified it correctly. It is indeed an L190. The color of the fish in the photos was deceiving. I was hoping it to be an L27C but the photos show otherwise. So I asked for a friend's advice and was told it's an L27, quite disappointed. But ...

Re: Help Sexing L046
Hi Milan,
I have different types of cave. Round, D-shape, and square made from slate and terracotta.
I thought having many females is better than 1 or 2. Do you think the females fight among themselves?
Thanks.

Re: Help Sexing L046
Hi guys, thanks for the replies. Sorry about the picture quality. I took them last night in a hurry. They're at least 3-4yo. They were in a 4x18x18 tank with some corys. There are 2 other "males" stuck in a cave which I couldn't take a photo of. One of them is definitely a male cause I had babies ...

Hi Jac, Good luck in your quest breeding these guys! Too bad I gave up when my only female died. I hope you have a better chance. Here's my experience: I bought 3 young adults and turned out to be 2 males and 1 female. I had them for about 4 years and tried many things, you name it, to breed them ...

Re: HELP: Sick Brachyplatystoma tigrinum
Thanks for the reply. Not sure if I can find fish friendly vet. They're as rare as hen's teeth. It's bad isn't it? My fear is it's viral infection which has no medicine. The growth is getting worse. I'm distressed because of it. It's really my favorite fish. I'm also concerned about the bleeding in ...

HELP: Sick Brachyplatystoma tigrinum
Hi all, My tigrinus about 20-25cm has pimple like growths (reddish and white) on it's body and lower jaw. The one on lower jaw is quite big. The fish was initially injured by other tank mates (torn fins and cut barbels/whishers) and I seperated it in a hospital tank. I treated with melafix and some ...

Re: What panaque am I?
Thanks MatsP & Janne. :thumbsup: I personally believe that it's not L002. It's an adult (have it for over 2 yrs) and the lines are too broad/large to be L002 and the patterns are different. It came in the batch of L002 though. I think I have more than 1. Just have to fish all out again. Thanks again.
