by availability i meant "good selection of plecs at all times"...occasional rare/fancy plecs, etc...i meant to show the availability of certain types of catfishes and also ability to make special orders if requested...price i think is imperative as in the twin cities you can pay anywhere from 30-80 ...

IMO. Under ground filter is a time bomb. With large fish forget the UGF if you have small fish(guppie tetra) then ok maybe, but its still a slow trickle filter I think. My point is under a UGF is a perfect place for nasty bugs "IF" it blocks up or the flow slows down to much. if you make sure to ...

it doesnt mean you should ditch it...the more filtration the better...use it in conjunction with another filter...i do that with one of my tanks and it works well the above being said...a UGF isnt exactly state of the art when it comes to mechanical filtration...i believe that is what you mean when ...

i think bathos has given you good advice...if you overload your tank too soon in the cycle it is not good...i think that some of your problem with the cloudy water may be due to a bacterial bloom...by introducing many fish at once the bacteria can recognize that there is a large increase of waste ...

well i just looked at all the pisc in the cat-e-log and i would say that the closest guess would be S. gobroni...however he does have a creamy edge to his fins sort of like acanthomias...either way i bought him as a juvenile for 7 dollars and i thought he was killed as i never saw him in my tank ...

AGAIN...i would never recommend feeding any lori meat too often...but as i said bloodworms of a krill or two now and then is ok...in my opinion a varied diet is important...i would never offer beef heart...or anything that isnt aquatic, but if you stay away from that stuff and offer some worms once ...
