Will a filter create enough oxygen. I was wondering if there would be enough oxygen in the tank for the filter. I have blowers but the bubbles dont go through the charcol they just go throught the top. Any help would be appreciated
What kind of a filter are we talking about here?
Generally, having water movement will introduce more oxygen into the water than bubbling air through it.
That may not be enough, if your tank is going to be reasonably densely stocked.
If you're going to bubble air, might as well stick in a sponge filter. A better alternative is to add an internal filter (something like a Fluval 3 or 4).
That way, you'll have enough oxygen in the water, plus additional filtration capability.
Personally eddie, I would just get an air stone for your tank rather than spend the money on an internal filter. Sponge filters are cheap too, but IME they don't work well unless you get a big one and an air stone would be better at creating disturbance anyways IMO.
