Do you have much experience with the little killers ?
You may make fun ...but once they get a taste for mucus they dont look for algae anymore .
I have seen them destroy tanks of fish .

Re: Otto likes to ride the blue eye
If you dont mind a little advice ,remove the otto ,it could cause you a big problem It is eating the mucus on the fish, its defensive system is being damaged and is working harder to produce more slime to recover ,this is why the otto is only on this fish. The fish is loosing its protective coating ...

Re: what are some good medications so have on hand?
Yes cooking salt is ok ,Table salt is not ..the product to stop it clumping is harmful to fish. Aqualibrium salt (marketed) is fantastic ..it contains a little more than the kitchen based products . If I had the choice the aqualibrium salt is the better option .. our friend Bigamefish has the choice ...

Hey Marc,Dont take it to heart , I get questioned about the use of salt on a regular basis . Its a fantastic thing to have in the cupboard under the tank . Oldies but goodies . What else raises the O2 and increases the immunity/mucus of the fish in one hit . Coupled with other meds its a double ...

Yes Joolz is right ,They are what I would term a film feeder .They graze lots of algae and in the process eat whatever lives there in .Beautiful fish ..one of the prettiest loricarids .enjoy .
BUT dont take your eye off the ball they suffer if you are not disciplined with the water.

Hi Mats , Because this is the most accurate picture of it according to my very reputable source .Given the very rare nature of this fish and that is not a regular import we will have to see.
I dont mind as long as they arrive well if they only look half as good as the picture they will be stunning.

Hi Miryam..Mr Wrasse is correct in his observation ,Looking at the tank it is also heavily planted more oxygen goes missing at night because of the plants. Increased airation along with a standard whitespot medication and salt @84f .it will go provided the water parameters are good. Dont get too ...
