A friend of mine keeps them together just be wary that if the rams get to close or inside a males cave they might be killed

I keep them to I do keep them successful in higher PH staying in Africa our PH tends to be on the high side around 8.4 but they don't breed successfully. For that I had to get down to bellow 6 they are such a fun fish to keep and Bekateen helped me loads with his advice on them

My L168 eat anything including blanched zucchini, chopped shrimp my males are big above 15cm and do breed regularly form early spring till late summer

mine have gone dormant they should start back up around September hopefully ill have them settled in their new tank in the next couple of weeks

Well we are at trapping attempt nr 1765249 (at least it feels like that) i just leave them alone now and feed and do my water changes waiting for the fry 8-}

first 12 hours are done and the are still trapping (not exactly sure when they started), I felt a bit pervish staring at the vibrating tail :))

today will be the 5th consecutive 30% water change then ill stop i had a lot of issues over the weekend power cut of 9 hours my cycled crashed lost my 2 lda074 plecos saved the tank by moving a cycled sponge filter over from another tank. I must say the L387 in the tank are tail wagging like mad fish

mixture of zucchini, chopped prawn, hikari carnivore pellets and maybe some left over flakes that the dither fish don't eat

Last year breeding season my males where tail wagging but no females where interested. So what your saying it will take time to neutralize, I will try to keep my tds count stable between 50 and 60 I really need it to go down to the low 5's. On the butterfly plecos the ph influences the incubation time of the eggs if its to high they hatch prematurely. Thanks for the massive reply ...

Finally

Finally got a RO filter going did my first changes did small 30% changes My L168 tank tds is down to 60ppm GH1 KH 1 but the ph is still stuck at 7.6 how long before i can expect it to stat dropping? Will the drop happen gradually? I do have lots of wood in the tank and also added some liquad tree ...

how closely related are your breeders? might be that they are inbred so much that the genetics are weak
