Re: L010A Red Lizard with mouth fungus
I treated with Kanaplex and Ken's metronidazole medicated food. All fish are still alive but the growth has not changed. I cut about 80% off last night but the growth is really attached to the fish's mouth. Next suggested course of treatment? If I had to guess I am assuming this fish has been ...

Re: L010A Red Lizard with mouth fungus
Bump,
Has anyone manually removed fungus? I almost want to pull it off of him and treat for secondary conditions as a preventative. 24 hours after the first API Erythromycin dosage the condition has not shown any improvement.

L010A Red Lizard with mouth fungus
Hey people, Before I continue I don't believe the disclosure of every drop of water that is in my aquarium is necessary to answer my question. After years in the hobby thinking that "fungus" on fish was a myth/joke I have finally come to experience it for myself. One of my male L010A has developed a ...

Re: CW010 Aeneus Gold Laser breeding...
I generally over feed and over water change however I don't think enough people realize how much food corydoras need. If you're confident with your sex ratio I would look at the volume you're feeding and if you can potentially increase it along with your maintenance. Another thing to consider is ...

S Barbatus Egg Issue
My Barbatus are finally spawning with consistency. The issue is after I put them in an egg tumbler they fungus. Is anyone aware if the eggs of this species are light sensitive similar to some killifish? My experience with keeping fish in general is telling me that my pH is currently too high for ...

Re: Megalechis picta loosing scales, Help needed!
I've spawned these at similar parameters and have first hand experience with a similar issue. I cannot say my "treatment" will work as it's very generic but I can say that this is what I did when I saw this and it worked for me. (Species only tank, you will have to factor-in my advice with the other ...

Re: Feeding Ancistrus Medusa L034
Sorry all, I didn't address the later half of my mentioned issue, I was NOT overfeeding, in fact I'm still experimenting with how much this group consumes. They are PIGS, straight up swine, I underestimated what they consume by about 50%. This was mostly in part to recognizing they weren't touching ...

Re: Feeding Ancistrus Medusa L034
Update for others having issues feeding this species, They're definitely eating, I think it just took some time for them to get comfortable. The food they seem to like turned out to be Ken's Premium 5 Stick Blend. This makes a lot of sense since these are Omnivores and the combination 5 different ...

Re: Feeding Ancistrus Medusa L034
Darren,
Mine show no interest in algae wafers is bizarre. I left a single wafer in the tank and it was untouched the next morning. Mine are 3.5-4" as well, they are not babies. I am going to order the Novotabs tonight, they seem to be a favorite food of aquarist outside of the US.
Thanks!

Feeding Ancistrus Medusa L034
What are people feeding their L034s? I have tried over 15 different foods and they don't seem to be fond of anything. I've tried close to 10 types of sinking pellets, repashy, bloodworms, brine, other frozen foods, sweet potato, greens beans, and some other random foods. I expect this species to eat ...

Re: Combining L333 spawns
Update/Question, The fry that I've left in with the parents are doing fine (I think). While its hard to keep an eye on growth rates of fry in a 75G, its definitely easier to maintain high water quality with just a single pair of plecos. This same pair is now trapping again almost exactly 1 month ...

All,
If anyone in Eric's area knows how to bag a fish, put it in a box, and go to the nearest post office, please help me out. I will make it worth your while.

Re: Combining L333 spawns
Update for the few concerned, curious, and my people, It seems like some hobbyist have noticed this behavior while others are completely foreign to it. I've spoken with around a dozen reputable hypan breeders and have had almost a 50/50 split in opinions on the normality of this behavior. The good ...

Re: Combining L333 spawns
All, The fry are now out of the males cave but for some unknown reason they are congregating at the surface near the corners. My first thought is they need more air or more heat. All parameters are typical optimal hypan parameters. Has anyone seen anything like this? I am going to drop in more air ...

All,
I should've asked this in my last post.
I am sure both options work well but is either one optimal?

Combining L333 spawns
All, I bought a pair of trapping L333s from a local hobbyist about 3 months ago. I successfully brought the pair home in the cave they were trapping in and have the batch of fry that they produced in a 10G. This first batch of fry I decided to strip from the male when they were still eggs. I raised ...
