Looks like it to me but i could be wrong. The lighting makes it look darker. Or perhaps a photo from another dimension would help? You are right people get it wrong on species most times, and its good to research.

Maybe Hypancistrus sp(l340) or Hypancistrus debilittera ? (this is pretty much a stab in the dark, but I hope it's close) Honestly, the snout on your fish looks too long to be debilittera but looks closer to L340, so that's why I listed L340 first. But I'm not sure what else would look like this ...

You are most welcome to the forum. Pretty new here myself but am learning each day as well. Wouldn't say am an expert but i think its peckoltia multispinis. They are pretty similar looking and hard to distinct. Would love to hear what experts think. Welcome again!Happy learning as well.

Proper tank maintainance is of paramount importance. Lesson we keep learning all the time. Have also failed not once but several times but we have to keep learning and trying.

You'll need lots of research on which ones are compartible and which ones are not. Also creating an environment where all of them can coexist will be something you have to consider. I am not so good at this but it would be interesting to see what you come up with. Please keep us updated.

Good you are introducing all the changes even with the filters - better be wrong than sorry. I think it's stress related so with the changes, a better environment should help it get back to normal.

Apparently it's normal and comes with the mood of the fish so nothing to worry about as they fade in and out on their own.
