Re: Pl*co with possible Swim Bladder Disease?
I was getting ready to go out to buy it when the guy from the fish shop. He said I needed to put him in a bucket of TONIC salt, for 20 minutes a day and also put medication in the tank. Let me clarify, he said put a CUP of the tonic salt in a bucket full of water. From what I've gathered since, he ...

Pl*co with possible Swim Bladder Disease?
Hi guys, it's been a while since I posted, and I feel sad to have to post over something like this. My pl*co Bob, is dead. This afternoon when I came home from work, I saw that he was floating at the top of the tank with his belly facing up. When I gently touched him he reacted and swam to the ...

I've found many won't take to Cucumbers immediately, what I've done that works best is to quarter the cucumber and leave it in for a day and then replace w/ a new quarter, keeping this up for a week. If by the end of a week, the cucumber hasn't been touched, then they might just not like it...it ...

The Frightening Pl*co!
Hehehe this is about my pl*co who really really doesn't like "big humans." For the past 3 days now I've been camping out by the tank trying to take a picture of it with my digital camera. If Tom Cruise from Mission Impossible wanted a difficult task, he should really try taking a picture of a pl*co ...

Hey guys :) I'm still quite new to pl*cos & my guy is still quite new to me! I've been trialling out several different food types & haven't struck it lucky yet re: what it (not too sure of the gender!) likes. I tried a thinly sliced piece of cucumber, it didn't touch it. I tried Nutrafin's Spirulina ...

S.Allen it may seem like alot but it's not thoroughly informative (I'm seriously considering returning it & asking for a refund at this point.) And _once_ I take a picture of Bob (yes, I'm so cruel, I named my pl*co Bob... ahem :D ) I know I can come here and ask for help re: identifying and looking ...

Thankyou S.Allen & Silurus (I've corrected my mistakes where the pl*co nomenclature is concerned.) Hrrmm well aside from pretty pictures (which I do enjoy!) I really would like a book with more information on their care etc. One book I did discover at my fish store was the 'Hobbyist Guide to Catfish ...

Intro & a question :)
Hello hello! I'm fairly new to Loricariidae but recently bought one and promptly fell in love with it. Please pardon me if I make mistakes in some of my posts; am trying desperately to understand everything (especially the L numbers) Planet Catfish is definitely a godsend IMHO. I'm a 24 year ...
