Re: Does Hemiancistrus subviridis eat snails?
I have seen Apistograma take a bite on a snail, maybe Malaysan Trumpet Snail if I remember correct, and try to shake it out. I have seen 2 apr 25cm L114 eat Appel snail, 5 were gone in like three days. My two cents.

I d say most of this issues dont conclude genetic issues. Its mostly water and food issues from bred. Some strains with others have been bred for like 50 years and are still going strong.

Size is really good. To me sounds like good upbringing. I believe you need to feed more quality food to fatten them up. I have had 7year old pleco having youngsters.

Re: Please help me with "L" identification
I have breed some hundreds of L15 not knowing if all L15 are that easy or if there are different lines that are easier to breed within one species. Maybe my conditions that I offer are the best for L15 that have them breeding. Hard to say.. really.. I know that my L15 are offspring from what Janne ...

Dither fish might help in giving plecos some security assurance. In my 200L(52 Us gal) with a big group of L397 and red scarlet endlers L397 are all over the place eating day and night. I also have some young L397 in a 600L(158 Us gal) with big L75, L47, Geophagus' steindachneri and ...

For me the fish looks thin and short so I don't think it has had enough of food and or water quality. It may be so that you and I have totally different fish and that your don't grow as big. How big is he?

I'd ask question like. When did you require the breeding group? How big where they at that point? How many offspring have you sold and to whom or where? What does "young breeding group" mean to you?

If you can see that the Betta is eating it is probably still too much light in the room or on the fish for the hypancistrus to feel comfortable.. Or hypancistrus isnt hungry..
