Video of the eggs. Note the tick-tock motion. Sorry it's not clearer.

Re: Tatia intermedia spawned....again.
Very cool Frank Hoping to see some development pics Here you go: http://www.franksaquarium.com/images/egg10.jpg If you look closely, you'll see a tail-like appendage in the eggs. They move in a "tick-tock" manner (for lack of a better term). I'll see if I can get video. It's really interesting.

Re: Tatia intermedia spawned....again.
I removed the snail right after the pic was taken. I have an infestation of pond snails in some of my tanks. I'm getting assassin snails to, hopefully, help with this problem.

Thought I'd post a couple of pics of the egg mass my Tatia intermedialaid today. This is their second spawn. I have a few fry from their first and hope to get many more from this one. https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/10391059_10152974222322679_5564587792605098702_n.jpg ...

Re: Farlowella henriquei
Thanks Syno and Mountain. I think they are eating, but have not actually seen it happen. Food is gone in the morning. As to Hikari algae wafers, all it seems to do is make a mess out of the water quality. I've stopped using them. Kamas, looking at pics of the two, the abdominal scutes don't seem to ...

Re: Farlowella henriquei
Thanks to you both for the replies. They do look like the pics in the Cat-E-Log, so I'm going with that identification.
If I might ask: what were you feeding them? Right now I'm using Repashy gel, but I'd like to vary the diet.

Re: Trichomycterus davisi?
I had four of these fish jump from the tank last night (my fault. I added too much water to the tank, allowing them to squeeze through a small hole in the cover). I have them in 95% ETOH. Any idea who might want them for identification purposes?

This is the illustration of the fish in the original description: http://researcharchive.calacademy.org/Image_db/IchTypes/Illus/Med/64583-i.jpg Looks pretty similar to your fish if you ask me. Actually, it does. But what about the size difference? Fishbase says 5 cm, while mine are about 11 cm. But ...

Re: Trichomycterus davisi?
This is not T. hasemani . Likely to be T. gabrieli , but I'm basing this on the collection locality (if correct). Identifying Trichomycterus accurately to species level is about as easy as doing the same for the brown/gray spotted Hypostomus . From the pics I can find of gabrieli, it doesn't look ...

Trichomycterus davisi?
Hi folks. Just got a group of these catfish tonight. Came in as Trichomycterus davisi, although it's longer than the 2.4" the description says it gets (this one is 4.75" long). According to the exporter, it's out of Manaus, caught in the the Rio Negro. Any idea as to what it might actually be? http ...

L-129 Hypancistrus debilittera?
Hi folks. I ordered some L-129 Hypancistrus zebra from Columbia, and ended up with the following fish: http://www.franksaquarium.com/images/catfish/hypancistrus_debilittera1.jpg http://www.franksaquarium.com/images/catfish/hypancistrus_debilittera2.jpg Two different species, or sexually dimorphic?

franksaquarium shows L180 Do you mean the ones imported as agaboensis are L180? + a fourth specie (have no idea if described or not) Which pic are you referring to? the fifth has a reticulated pattern as L159 (thought to be from Xingu but probably this is a Tocantins/Araguaia specie since I never ...

They were imported as Mystus sp., with the above common name. Maybe ? A pretty looking catfish, although I'm sure it will eat anything small.

Re: Is this Bagrichthys hypselopterus?
Right. When I said ... on MFK, all you have to say "This fish is very rare"... I meant that this should come not from the seller (conflict of interest, even if it is undeniably true) but from some one unattached and respected who has an expert weight in the most member's eyes. Agreed. And one must ...

Bagroides melapterus is very rare IME. Never seen one live. But you are right, hypselopterus looks to be super rare. Was that the basis of your excitement, Frank? The basis of my excitement was that I had not seen them before. I usually bring in a few pieces of fish that I've never dealt with, just ...

Thanks. I'd have to agree. The exporter has misidentified them. I'll let him know.
Too bad. I had such high hopes.
He also has listed. Are they worth bringing in? Never having dealt with these fish before, I'm not sure how popular they are.
