Re: H. littorale raised/ragged scutes, fins, open sores
Hi, how are your fish? One of my hoplos looks similar to your fish, she has some white spots on scutes and on the snout (it doesn't look like fungus). And lower tip of her tail is also white. I gave her quick bath in formalin and she's in salt treatment now. Think i try some anti-ich medication if ...

Re: H. littorale raised/ragged scutes, fins, open sores
Maybe the fish were too old and their immune systems weren't efficient enough anymore? As you say, perhaps the move weaken them even more and that's the result. What are the tankmates? Maybe some fish is bullying them. Can you give dead ones to vet for examination? For how long are they treated now ...

Re: H. littorale raised/ragged scutes, fins, open sores
Sad to hear that you're losing your fish. I think one of my bettas died of something similar, but i haven't figured out what it was and i lost only one fish to this. I guess it might be connected to poor water quality and/ or high stress levels. Also it may be something latent, which is already in ...

I'm pretty sure first one is a male and the second is female. They look like they went through the mill.

Re: My Catfish and tanks
Beautiful photos and amazing fishes - the gobies are absolutely splendid. I love the moss background inside your biggest tank.
Oh, and i like your cats, too. I mean, the terrestrial ones .

Re: Mouth Rot, Scarring, or Something Else?
I'm not an expert, but i would increase water temperature to some 27-28 degrees of Celsius. Since from what i know, angelfishes like little higher temperatures.

Re: Juveniles: Hoplosternum or Dianema?
I think i'll add their photos to my profile when they'll look better. They're in quarantine (in a shrimp tank, but it's not important right now :-p ) where it's a detectable current so they should be fine; they often swim up and down along front glass. One of the two i bought first looks much better ...

Re: Juveniles: Hoplosternum or Dianema?
This is Hoplosternum littorale . Thanks for identification:) You're right, they are very skinny – make excellent representation of local pet's stores level. I bought three more just in case some of them won't survive (i want to try to breed them in the future). I feed them several times a day. I'm o ...

Juveniles: Hoplosternum or Dianema?
This is my first post so first of all: hi everyone:) I just bought two young members of Callichytidae. They're about 1.75 inch (ca. 4cm). I spent a lot of time searching on PC and I think they're Dianema longibarbis or Hoplosternum littorale or H. punctatum . I already have one adult H. littorale ...
