Oooo...very excited that you will be at the convention! I'll be going especially since I live less than 10 minutes from the hotel.
I'll have to think about which caves I want.
Hope to see you at the convention!

I showed your tank to someone and they mentioned that you should enter the AGA aquascaping contest under biotopes!

I love the rocks that you used for the new layout. Do you know what kind they are and where did you get them?

Re: Little creek behind my house; stream morphology
Shane, you must come up to Reston and see what you can find in our little streams next to my house. I've always been curious. One of my neighbors told me that he occasionally catches crayfish in his minnow traps that he uses as bait to fish in our nearby lakes.

Re: Monster Fishkeepers Sued by Monster Energy Drink
You know, I'm surprised that Monster Energy Drink hasn't gone after Advanced Auto Parts MONSTER JAM, since monster is in the name. Oh wait, they sponsor some of the trucks at these events. My bad. What a bunch of hypocrits!

It looks great Shane! I'll bet you are enjoying that new addition by sitting next to it with a cold cocktail in hand.

Re: Substrate depth for planted tank
All my tanks are planted with a plant substrate with the exception of my African cichlid tank which only has pool filter sand, but even that one has some Java ferns attached to lace rocks. Most of my tanks have anywhere from 3 to 5 inches of substrate. I use Eco-Complete for my community tank, ADA ...

Thanks for the info Birger. I think that I'll try to make some breeding mops with Fissidens and Java mosses.
Wish me luck.

Microsynodontis breeding
I recently acquired a group of 10 Microsynodontis sp. "Bumblebee" from a group buy and would love to breed them. I have not been able to find any info about their breeding behavior or any successful captive breeding. Can I assume that I should use marbles like the larger cousins like petricolas or ...
