Re: Lower Xingu Project

Thanks for your feedback guys. Tank is 18" wide sadly, I'm aware of potential adult sizes but am experienced in there growing nature. My Zebs have always lived bigger boisterous fish (including Psuedas :-O ) most recently during the experimental fphase of this (in 350ltr tank) they lived and spawned ...

Re: UK Breeding networks

I think in theory its a good idea, however many people would be very about exchanging or lending for stud there prize male/female fish just incase it dies whilst out on loan. I'd like to see it work but not sure it will. If I were to lend out one of H Zebra I'd need a hefty retainer for its security.

Lower Xingu Project

Later this month I am building my dream biotope (I only have the 1 tank so need to make it a good one). The tank is currently coming into the 4th week of cycling. The tank is 60x18x24 and will be home to species from the Lower Xingu close to the Volte Grande rapids where they end at Porto Altamira ...

Re: L46 and the Belo Monte dam

Ive just been reading about proposed gold mining operation in the Volta Grande by Belo Sun http://www.belosun.com/Projects/Volta-Grande/default.aspx "The Company currently controls the mining and exploration rights over an area covering 130,541 hectares(1,305 sq. km) of the area known for artisanal ...

Re: Diving in Xingu

In the 5th picture on page 1 there is a faint horizontal stripe pattern in the shadows. Now I initially thought this was a small H Zebra, but it could also be the nose of the A Rununculus.

Re: L46 in comunity tank

My Zebs are all 100% spot on in the community, they out number all other species plec species massively (so theres the pack) all the research I have done into this project has led me to Zebras not living in solitary groups of H Zebra, they commonly share there crevices with other species and many ...

Re: L46 in comunity tank

I'm not a big fan of keeping fish in isolated species tanks, its just not natural. I have 10 good sized H Zebra in a 350ltr tank. They live very happily with a selection of fish (warning some may disagree with this list) 1 Liposarcus Punctatus, 1 L191, 1 P Armbrusteri Xingu, 2 B Xanthellus, 1 S ...

Re: IBAMA at L-numbers event

So if a CITES protected species is placed directly in the line of extinction by a certain dam(n) project will this be enough to stop the dam?
