Re: 3FT Planted tank
Hi, It is very beautiful, but I dont have very much room left in my tank so I couldn't have one. Mine are now getting pretty big but I dont think that they will flower as I dont let the leaves touch the surface and have trained them not to do so. I will try to post some pictures of the tank later on ...

Re: 3FT Planted tank
Hi, It seems that you have a green/red tiger lotus. I have only recently got one of these myself and absolutely love them. The peppered cories that I have rescued are very happy now and love to hang around with my other cories and my dwarf loach. My dwarf loach seems to think that he is a cory and ...

Re: 3FT Planted tank
Hi, My tank cycled in under a week and I have not had any ammonia or nitrates in at least 2 weeks. I test at least once a week for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates and if there is any at all then I do a quarter water change and add Seachem Prime, which removes ammonia and neutralizes nitrites and ...

Hi,
Thanks for your replies. The reason the pictures are so good is because my father owns a $2,000 SLR camera and sits in front of our tanks for hours taking photos (my fish are probably beyond blind by now ).

Re: Cories and betta plakat 2gether?
Hi, Adding more plants would make the cories alot happier as well as the betta. As for the medication for the eggs, the fungus medication would be perfect at a half dose, but I wouldn't treat them in that tank, I would move the eggs over into another tank and treat them in there. This helps ensure ...

Re: Cories and betta plakat 2gether?
Hi, I have 3 breeding pairs of julii cories and I have done nothing to get them to breed. If you keep your water quality as close to perfect as you can get it, they will breed like mad. I wouldn't put the cories in a different tank, I would leave them in the community tank and move the eggs over ...

Re: 4 of 5 Cory's & 1 Hoplo: rapid breathing
Hi, It could be gill flukes or it could just be stress. Where they breathing heavily when you got them or have they just started to do it? Are their gills red and/or inflamed? It may also be that there is too much chemicals in the water. Cories especially are very sensitive to chemicals and I know ...

Unknown cory cat
Hi,
Could anyone help me identify this cory? I purchased him from my LFS, which classed him as "assorted corydoras". He was the only one there so I bought him home.
Thanks, calicocat

Re: cory panda tank
Hi, Panda cories like slightly acidic water and are very sensitive to ammonia and nitrates. I also agree with what others have said about lowering the temperature as a high temperature (over 26 degrees) can actually lower their life span. To get them to breed, we used blackwater extract and made our ...

Re: Is this breeding behavior?
Hi, This maybe breeding behaviour. Usually the females are larger than the males, so you probably have 2 females and 4 males which for cories is good as the male to female ratio for cories is 1 female to 2 males. Cories don't pair off and don't breed in caves, they will literally breed anywhere and ...

Hi,
I wouldn't worry about her. I have 2 breeding pairs of julii cories that never stop breeding and it hasn't affected them at all.
Hope this helps, Calicocat

Re: Sexing my Corys 1 of 2
Hi, I would say that the concolour is a female, the bronze is a male, I think the schwartzi is a male but I could be wrong, Panda 1 is a male and Panda 2 is a female. As for the bronze rubbing himself all over the hoplo, I would suggest that you get a few more bronzes for him. I have heard that all ...
