I’m fairly certain the fishes are wild caught so that should rule out the hybrid suggestion.

These are small, around 6cm TL and labelled as wc Ancistrus L048 (obviously incorrect).

I’m hoping there is a chance of a positive Id. as their striking blue eyes stand out from most Ancistrus I have seen. The eyes are even more blue in real life.

A few years ago I made a mistake by registering a kept (and bred species) in My Aquaria that turned out being something else.

I proceeded to remove the species in My Aquaria, I should probably have chosen "change species, keep data".

how are your claros doing?

I wonder about their behaviour in your tank. Are they shy? Or out in the open a lot like on your pictures? Do they cave a lot?

How are your plants? Any losses there?
Are they eating herbivorous? Do they like potatoe and zucchini or the likes?

I have been looking for this fish for so long that I had nearly given up. I'm so glad to have finally found them so I thought I would share a few photos.

These WC fish were imported to Sweden recently and I was lucky to get my hands on a good group of 9 fishes:

I know it's not in the same league but I have been stung by Corydoras which was like an insect bite.

Not nice but it certainly did not keep me from going to work.

Hi,
These fish were bought as adults under the name L333 ”Belo Monte”. I’m now curious if anyone else has come across L333s under this label, would you think it’s the real capture location? Is it a known variant of the L333 or simply a selling point for a nice fish?

As a sceptic I’m thinking Belo ...

The body shape looks wrong too, these are very chunky.

Anyway, I think these little fishes look different enough for there to be a chance of getting an id.. The pattern and colour of the female combined with the short body seems unusual to me.

Maybe they need to grow ...

Spotted these in a LFS and the pattern of the female made me think about Ancistrus claro, I'm not sure if it is or if the mouth size/shape is right. The male is quite different and har more of a uniform dark colour.

Got a lucky snap last night of the alpha male feeding from the surface.

This individual has been the strongest and fastest grower since they were about 3cm in length, he is now the boss of the tank ...

I agree with the above.

Of the Cories I keep I find the concolor to be the opposite of shy, even boisterous.
