Otos ideal temp. is about 78 F but will be okay in 80 or so but not much higher. I have many Otos and love their sweet nature they get along with everything but like to stay in groups they clean algae well, so well infact that I have to leave veggies for them because there is no more algae. They do ...

I have seen some pretty big tanks on the redwood road petsmart they currently have a one on display although I am unsure of its exact size. I think I might just try to get mine custom built through a place that a teacher I know has had his built at. Because I want a wide tank not a high one, he uses ...

Thanks everyone for the help. I am glad this storm is gone. In the aftermath I lost two fish about a day after the power came back (due to stress because the temp dropped way lower but I believe the blankets helped tons just have to get a generator for next time.) luckily they where not my catfish ...

Skyetone where did you get a tank in Utah that size I have been unable to find anything that large. The long tank is probably a propegation tank for coral because of the low height I have a couple long ones for coral and for various types of bottom feeders that I use. I am unsure of why they make ...

Power Outages a major problem for my catfish.
For the past couple of days we have had major storms with about two feet of snow. The power has been going off regularly with often ten hours or more without power. I covered my tanks with blankets and pillows and was able to keep the temperature at 75 F. My fish all lived, so far, but they are ...

First Cory... Help on specific diets!
I decided to add some corys to my already existing tank with guppies, danios and african dwarf frogs. The biggest problem I have is the best diet for a cory. I am unsure of what kind he is although he (or she) is spotted which doesn't help at all, hopefully I can post pictures of it later. Well the ...

The last couple of times I have been online their has been no bar at the top of my screen, however, on my other computer there is. I can not get back to the ...

Other Catfish
I am looking for a catfish besides the otocinclus species that are small when adults (up to 3") . It needs to be a good community fish because I want to put it in with some pearl danios, ADF's and fancy guppies. I know the Otos would be okay but I am wondering if anything else is a possibility and ...

One of my Otos has this strange habit of following everything in my tank that moves (ie: the ADF's, fish, other Otos, bubbles and even the snail.) I have not clue why and even though it is humoring I have heard of Otos attaching themselves to tank mates resulting in the tankmates death... Searching ...

Otocinlcus help
I recently decided to add a group of three otos to my tank. Recently i have noticed that they have all darkened in color. When I first bought them they where so light that you could not make out their brown stripes that well. Now their stripes are dark and visible I assume this means that they are ...
