Re: Video of my last remaining tank
Hmm, kind of sad to see as my first post after being away for so long. But on the bright side, things change and you will always come back around to wanting more tanks in the future. I went from 5 tanks to one, lost some otos but the rest seem happy. The other tanks are now terrariums for orchids ...

I wonder how they went through the Darian Gap ..... Google Darien Gap and motorcycle..wow. Lots of riders have done it but nooo thank you. That is so true! Oops, my bad. Yes you're right Mats, the Long Way Down was the South Africa trip. Charlie's next trip is the tip of South America to Alaska - Long Way Up. Danny Liska did it the other way on a BMW, Alaska to Chile, lack of roads and interesting lack of passport officials, was quite a funny book. It ...

Re: maidenhair fern - how to keep? alive?
I keep my ferns in the bathroom. Seem to like it there, low light, high humidity. Also you can place a tray of water with pebbles in it to set the pot on. Don't let the plant pot touch the water, hence the pebbles. Keeps a nice cone of humidity around the plant. If you're worried about it drying out ...

If you say "make the bed", do you put sheets and pillows on it or get out the wood and hammer?
Depends on the language.
Shut the light, turn out the light, put the light out, turn off the light. Same meaning in four different lingos.
Got any others like those?

My twigs are my favourites. Farlowella platorynchus by far because he has the extra filament and his nose is so flat and longer and distinctly different from the others. Nice colours too, reminds me of a snake. Not listed in my cats here because it was confirmed by a twig expert but not confirmed by ...

I have several and mine have adjusted their colour as well. Mine seemed to change shorty after I got them into the tank and each stayed that colour since. One is quite dark, almost black, another is pale beige/yellow, the rest are variations of the common colouring. The original lighter colour may ...

Glad Phil was saved! Here's two more to warn about, both fish were saved. Coconuts with holes in the end - Twigs ( Farlowella vittata ) fit right into the little holes but can't back out. Mini plant pots sold with aquarium plants. If your plant gets pushed out of the pot, many corys will fit through ...

Awesome, thanks! I just put the new bike away for the winter so the rest of my life is finally getting some attention. I like the idea of the crayfish/minnow tank. Lots of crayfish around here but they get too big. Are the minnows for them to snack on or are you looking at smaller crayfish? The ...

Hi All SO my question is - if you could start again and design everything, what would you do? Hi Nate!
Long time no hear from.
How's this idea coming along? I want to add a similar tank but haven't really got to the final planning yet. Have the same tank size(4ft x 12 x 12).

S. euptera mating fights?
Hi, Has anyone seen the mating behavior? Is it quite violent? Here's what I'm observing and this just started yesterday. Stable cmmunity tank been the same for about a year. No new fish. I think it's 38 gal tall (36 long x 12 deep by 18 high). Water stable, temps stable, no new furniture. 4 ...

That sounds like a cheery way to finish the year. I'll have to follow your progress in the cory section. Maybe it will inspire me to redo my cory tank too, it's looking a little overgrown atm. Comfy for them but I really miss watching them.
Here's wishing any and all good health to you and your fish.
