You can't keep cories in sealed box with no access to the surface. Cories when two weeks old need to get to surface every few hours or they will sufficate. Have you noticed that the adult swim to surface every hour or so? I hope get this message before it is too late. Some die if the water is too ...

The fry are most likely C. aeneus. They will spawn in a community tank especially after a large water change. If you only have two fry I would leave them in the tank. There should be enough small food for them to survive. I have a goup of six that I raised like year. It is easier to raise a group of ...

When the fish are a year old it is usually easier to tell but sometimes it is hard to judge because you can have large males or small females. If you feed them heavy enough the females will swell with eggs. I assume that you are talking albino aeneus. There are a couple other albino that you see in ...

This is just a guess. The bronxe cories might be wild captured. The albino are breed in tanks so more used to humans. I also suspect that albino cories do not have the best eye sight. Most animals with pink eyes tend to poor vision. I have noticed in the past that albino do not eat as well as the ...

You might try the local fish clubs for contacts. I am sure there are other people with C. panda in the area. Chicago is a very large city so have several different fish clubs. One even has a web site for trading fish. There are fish auctions and fish swap. Auction is just like the name implies fish ...

C. pandas lay eggs usually one at a time. When they place eggs they are separated. If some of them fungus it is not a problem. Sometimes I will see one or two bad eggs in a batch. My best guess is that the eggs are over 90% fertile. I am curious what part of Canada do you live in? If you don't want ...

I would recommend a either a power filter or power head. Panda love to play in the current. I suggest that is placed in on corner of the tank. I have seen them swim for hours playing follow the leader in the current. They also like to place eggs in a place with go water flow. I raise the fry in 2.5 ...

It really dpends on the species. C. paleatus you normally do not have do anything that special. They will spawn on their own. It will usually happen a day or two after the weekly water change. They might spawn all the eggs at once or they several small spawns on consecutive days. According to the ...

You ask a lot questions with long answers? First I would suggest that you do a web search on "how to set up a tank." You can then make your list of things that you want to have. There is an article about c. paletus at this web site. As for substrate, either way will work bare tank or non-sharp gravel. I have done it both ways. The other question is how many cories do you want to raise? You need to consider how much grow out room (tanks) you will need? You can't raise 100 ...

There are may article on the net that describe how to raise baby cories. You will need to get some brine shrimp eggs. It takes about two or three days for the babies to absorb the yolk sac. First of all c. aenus and c. aenus 'albino' are not a different species. They are a cultivar of the species. There are three different types of albinos that I know.
