Venustus does live up to be a host, but it's a huge, agressive fish.

Not easy to keep in a small tank, males can kill their females with little issue whatsoever.

.

Thanks, no worries. I have a tank full of aggressive fishes :) It is a weird tank actually. So called community fish, with ...

Thanks Paul, I did not know that. Hopefully future spawns will result in more babies. I had a heck of a time finding out exactly when I should strip the cich. I couldn't find that info anywhere :( So I had to guess with this one. :?

In the tank they are in, I have some Venustus in that tank as ...

Good luck.

Striping a cichlid holding s. multi fry

When is the best time to strip?
I guessed with this batch and striped at 9 days past spawn. The babies are doing wonderfully, eating and swimming well.

Should I have stripped the cich sooner? Would that have given me more multipuntatus babies?

When are the yolksacks absorbed?

Thanks.

It's a guess the fish.
I know what they are.
I discoverred them today, and have had my fingers crossed for the last week :)

I wonderred how many people would actually know these guys as babies.
They are quite unmistakenable as they grow, which doesn't take long.

How frustrating LOL.

No luck yet, here's more on the plec he saw
"Alright, alright, I just checked Krystyna's suggestions: L260 & L134 don't match at all.
The tiny pleco I saw had thin white parallel lines from head to toe, black body, no perpendicular stripes."

Is there any questions I can ask ...

Thank you for the responses. I posted them to the fellow who seen the plec, so far it's not an L066, his words "no L066, no way. "Mine" was totally black with very thin white stripes from head to toe"

Just posted him the other suggestions.

Thanks again.

Panda Pleco????

Has anyone ever heard of a Panda pleco?
From another board I'm on

There was a tiny pleco today at the store with that name, he looked like a zebra pleco but was definitely not a zebra (mainly black with very thin white lines) - anyway he was really cute but I ...

What type of filtration do you have?

As long as you do your regular water changes, and have adequate filtration, you'll be fine leaving the plec in and adding the tetra's and two more cories.

BUT, I would do one at a time, add the cories....wait a week and add the tetra's. This is to give your ...

wow, and now I think he's an impressive fish.
Can just imagine him at 20+"......definately a centerpiece fish.
He will be going in a 110g tank with some other large, or to be large fish. He is definately a welcome additon.

Thanks.

May I ask where you generally get your information from?

Well, this depends on how you measure the fish. The largest recorded size for this species is about 7.5" SL (without the caudal fin) and 10" TL (with the caudal fin).

ahhh, ok.....well my baby is 9" TL......hmmmm, so I guess it's possible he could grow a touch more perhaps....

any ideas on how ...

Then I definately must dispute the max growth in the profile of 6.5".

My new "baby" is 9" long, 2-3" wide, and very thick :)

Definately my pride and joy.

Thx
