Re: Using Copper Sulphate
Hi Again all, I have had an idea and was wondering if anyone can tell me if it will work. Could i add loads of salt to the water and then run the tank empty for a week or so making sure all the snails grow large enough to be affected by the salt levels. someone told me that eggs and baby snails can ...

Re: Using Copper Sulphate
Hi All, Thanks for the replies with advice and tips on getting rid of the snails. i dont think the strong chemical way will work as my two main breeding bristlenoses live in the problem tank, and seem very happy the way they are now. Im thinking of using a weaker chemical treatment that has copper ...

Help to ID pleco
My mother has given me a pleco as she is downsizing, she called it a Tiger pleco. I originally thought it was L002 but its head markings are different. Am not too sure if its a panaque or peckolitia. It has a 'hairy' back so I think he is a male, can anyone identify him? http://i188.photobucket.com ...

Bristlenose Catfish Breeding Advice Needed
Hi, currently i have been semi-successful at breeding bristlenoses and posting on here so when the new batch of eggs hatch they dont die in time. Its easier to tell a story of the last few weeks rather than try and work out key points so please stay with me til the end. Our fish bred over a month ...

Using Bamboo Question
Hi Everyone.
After searching all over the North-East UK I finally found some large enough bamboo for Clown Loaches and my Plecos. The problem I have now is getting it to sink and need to know, does bamboo sink in time like driftwood? Or will it need to be weighted down to keep from floating?

What sex is my Clown Pleco?
I have a Clown Pleco(Panaque maccus) http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=734 . I think it may be a female as it isn't 'hairy' on its back. However it is only 2 inches long , is this too young to sex? http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z168/velvetfire/P2190038.jpg http://i188 ...

Opal Spot (L082) Advice Pls
Hi all again. I'm stilling having a bit of a problem with my Opal Spot. Re: L187a (Spotted Bulldog pl*co) owns the tank
The L187a and the sp2 are both very skittish and will disappear from view if they detect any movement towards the tank, although the sp1 is not so bad. My L187a is just a pain in the arse and he only bullys the L082, but i think its because the Opal is new to the tank so now i have split them into ...

Re: Sexing Corydoras
Do the plain males almost look like a crappy Bronze cory? With a little line detail on the whitess side? In reply to that question i think that Male Peppered corys look abit like weak Bronze cory but i'd rather say it looke like a Male Otocinclus flexilis (Peppered Otos), but that might be because ...

I did not know that about a ban. Currently I'm able to breed peppered Corys and possibly my Otos are breeding, so if Opal spots can be bred in a captive environment then I'm happy to try and do my bit. I have some problems though, I don't know the difference between male and female Opals and have no ...

L187a (Spotted Bulldog Pleco) owns the tank
hi there, I placed a number of posts yesterday to try and solve a problem I have with my two Plecos (L187a and L082). What i'm posting for is for information on keeping many plecos in the same tank. The Bulldog Pleco is a mature male and no matter what I have try the Bulldog refuses to let my female ...
