Re: Freeze in Florida threatens tropical farms
This also is an interesting situation for us home breeders. I breed catfish to pick up a few bucks to help pay for my hobby. The LFS offered me 95 cents for some tank raised Aeneus cats. His justification was that that is what he paid for them from the wholesaler. I did get more in store credit. Now ...

Re: Fish Room Gone Berserk
SO Frank, how are the new cories doing? Do you have some pictures to post?
Also great radio shows. Thank you for your efforts. A dead president will be stopping by to say hello.

Re: Hatching & Raising fry question...
@JoeO: Thanks once again for the helpful info. Is their any value in feeding Cory fry infusoria? Have read about it on a lot of forums, but not sure if it is suitable for Cories. TIA One method of feeding Cories right after they are born/use up their egg sack, is to squeeze/scrape filters or ...

Re: Hatching & Raising fry question...
Hi Joe thanks for the reply. There must be at least 50 or more that hatched. It is a 30L tank with a sponge filter. With the fry in the tank, what is the best way to vacuum? With a length of airline tubing? Too scared to use anything bigger in case I siphon up the fry. LOL My tank is currently bare ...

Re: Hatching & Raising fry question...
Thanks for the advice. I left the unfertilised eggs with the rest until the batch had hatched, as I saw that I had no problems with fungus. Seemed to have no ill effects. Looks like all the fertilised eggs, with the exception of about 5 have hatched. Now that my batch have hatched, I have moved ...

Re: Hatching & Raising fry question...
In theory the meth blue should prevent the eggs (even the infertile ones) from fungusing, but if you can remove them without damaging the fertile eggs, I personally would remove them. Carp37 is giving you excellent advice. But, just for the heck of it, put another floating container into you tank ...

Re: Hatching & Raising fry
Mike, thanks for the info. A couple of questions. What percentage of your eggs hatch? What percentage of fry reach maturity? Are these the blue containers you are writing about? http://www.aquaticfoods.com/blackwormcare.html If you use a mesh bottom, how does the food stay in the container and not ...

Wow jo o. Great job. You have answered the question. "Yes, cories can fully grow back their barbels if kept in the proper environment."
Excellent, and thanks for the pictures.

Re: New Cory needs help
I am very pleased to say that all three are doing so well that, I found two Kits today :D they are still in the quarantine tank. I so happy that they are happy. I didn't dream that they would try and breed in a 15 inch tank. The adults are still very shy, the Kits are out and about all the time ...

Re: Albino Cory deaths
Start at the basics: Get a PH kit and measure it, don't guess. What size tank? How many fish and what kind and how large are they? Did she ever medicate with salt? She may not be feeding the Corys. If there are a lot of fast fish in the tank, food may not be getting to the corys. She may need to ...
