From the photos, your plec looks more like L002 (tiger pleco) than L066 (king tiger pleco) to me. The colors remind me of the tiger pleco, because your fish has dark orange stripes. The king tiger plecos at my work have nowhere near as much orange (if any at all), though our tigers are nice and orangey.
I hope I've helped you a little.:)

Check the pics of L038 in the cat-elog.

Thanks for trying
But it definately isn't L002 or L038 the lines are much thinner and broken,i'm sure it's a hypancistrus but not sure of the L#.L066 is still the closest match, looks similar to the close up of head pic in cat-e-log.
BTW it's not as orangey/brown as it appears in the pic(probably the flash). It's much darker in normal light.

I will try and get some better pics.

thanks

Lisa,
Yes. L038 IS that orange/brown...so if yours isn't....

Also know that the width and number of "stripes" on all these fishes is highly variable....some of the even change as the mature.

Good Luck.
If it is L066, there are plenty of people here who will recognize it.

Hi Lisa!

Surely not the best pic to ID a fish...
To my point sounds like yours is a
But if you could take a pic of him while he is out of the cave that surely would help to confirm...

Cheers

Hi
I suspected it was l66,it certainly looks better in the pic than it really is,the stripes are barely visible. It's still a nice fish though, almost 15cm and in good health. Was it worth the £12GB i paid for it,i think so :)

I've not seen it eating yet but food seems to be dissappearing so i think it's eating at night.
It never comes out of the cave when i'm around, just sits there staring at me.

I will try for more pics,i haven't had it long so will wait 'til it's settled in a while before i photograph it again.

Thanks
lisa
