What kind of pleco is the best when it comes to eating algae ?

Otocinclus are the best smaller plecos.
bristlenoses (Ancistrus) are the best medium sized plecos.
if you want something a bit more exotic, the whiptails (Farlowella, Hemiloricaria and Sturistoma) are also very good.

Hi depending on what type of algae you have!!
not a Loricariidae nor a catfish but I found the Garra to be quite effective...not so common which is really sad...

bristlenoses, smaller ones are best, they work harder at eating it. The larger ones are more lazy
