It's the good number?

Hy!
I have buy the first fish as "L059" but i think is L279

the femelle is on the glass and the male on the ground...
the female has the end of the caudal fin whiter than the male.

and the second was sold under the name of "silver spot" ???
I think it's a L059 but i'm not sure:

the end of caudal and dorsal fins are brown and white...

Can you help me to find the good numbers?

I think your first two fish (i.e. the female and male) are not the same species.

But they appear very similar... just the end of caudal and dorsal fins have a small difference in color.
But on the pic. #1, the female was stressed a little, therefore it had not taken its true colors

It could be the photos, but I tend to agree with HH that the top two fish are different spp.

L-numbers aren't really my thing so I'm probably spouting utter rubbish but perhaps L194 (and maybe L299) is worth looking at?

Your L059 looks similar to this picture:

Yours doesn't look as black though and I can't see any orange spots. Maybe yours needs a bit of time to settle-in before he'll show his best colouration? I do hope so, as the transfish.de fish is one of the most beautiful fish I have ever seen!

I agree on the first 2 with HH and Shane look like different species to me also...

Hi Chris,

I think that Pic. #3 & 4 is a juvenile Ancistrus punctatus (Aqualog says that A. punctatus is L182).

My "juvenile Ancistrus punctatus", is 3" (7,5cm), it could be juvenile at this size?

Hi Chris,

yes, a 7,5cm A. punctatus is still a juvenile. I have some A. punctatus that exceed 20cm.
