Cloudy eyes

Less than 2 weeks ago I noticed that some of my fish had white spots. They are housed with my white seams plecos. Some of my plecos have cloudy eyes and shreeded fins. I put some white spot medications Methylene Blue. The white spots has gone but the cloudy eyes still present and I put halve dose of "cure all" Malachite Green which I found later it's a bad idea. I have changed the water several times and no more Malachite Green in the tank. I have lost several fish since then some probably from Malachite Green medication. Anyway, the cloudy eyes still present and the plecos have been staying near the surface. I think I am going to loose more fish but what should I do with the cloudy eyes? I do regular water change and I am sure it's not a bad water condition.

if your fish do have white spot, stop all the medication as it can destroy your bacteria beds. this may have happened already. as a result your fish could be suffering from ammonia poisoning. up the temperature to about 28-30 and increase oxygen. continue to change 25% of the water every day to dilute the ammonia. stop feeding the fish.

good luck.

At the top of this forum, is a sticky that asks for all the information and test readings we need from your tank to give you a more educated guess as to what could be going wrong. If you could provide all that information, you'll be much more apt to get an answer that might save your fish.

Sorry Barbie, I forgot about it.
PH 7
Hardness measured by conductivity meter 270
Temperature 29 - 30C, it's summer over here
Tank 180 ltr
Water change 80% at least once a week.
Tank has diftwood and heavily plated with java fern.
Other parameter like amonia, nitrate, nitrite unknown.

Some fish also show white colour skin near the gill (not white spots).
I did 3 water change of at least 70% in the last 7 days. Cleaned the filter etc.
What medication should I use?

i would only use medication as a last resort, and then only in a quarantine tank (for the above reasons).

whitespot will usually clear up on it's own if you follow the above advice, unless you have an ammonia problem (which you may have).

i'm not sure if the medication you've used will kill your bacteria bed. filter over carbon to remove all of it just in case.

cloudy eyes could be related to ammonia poisoning. keep changing the water daily.

search this site for whitespot, white spot, ick or ich and you should get loads of advice.

Thanks for the advise.
The fish are looking better as they are no longer staying near the surface. I will do more water changes. As for cloudy eyes I am still not sure if water changes alone will clear the problem.
