Synodontis multipunctatis - help!
Synodontis multipunctatis - help!
Please can someone advise me. I finally got 5 baby multipunctatis last week. All seemed well until I noticed them covered in tiny white spots yesterday. They seem well otherwise and are eating and very lively. I've failed to find a aquarist shop open today for advice.
Thanks, Walrus

Wish I had bred them! I love plecos and catfish and I finally found somewhere that had some synodontis in stock. Got a friend to take a look at them and they looked really healthy so I got them. I have read about ich - it's a parasite isn't it? I have a couple of platies in that tank - couldn't catch them! Will they be ok? They have the spots too. And it is a heavily planted tank - I guess the plants may not make it. How long to keep the tank at that temp for?

Hi Walrus,
Don't want to spoil your mood, but what are your waterconditions?? S.multipunctatus will not live very long
in water with a PH level of 7 or less.
They are from the African Tanganjika Lake and definitely need that kind of conditions, otherwise they will become magnets to all kinds of diseases. And they will never get used to "South American" conditions.
