Has any one owned one succusfuly or had one. How long and how many? i know they get fairly large. There's a store with them for 35 bucks Canadain. Is that a good price, they are around 4-5 inches. What would you saftley put in with one?

Right now I could put them where ever they need to be. From what I can find on the net you can't put more than 1 in a tank unless it's very large.
The same was said about gold nuggets but I have two in a 65gallon and they don't leave each others side. I just want to know if 35 canadain is a decent price for 4" and if there are people out there that have owned them or are currently housing them.
I can't find a list of suitable companions but I assume they aren't varicious or will go after tank mates.

I think you got a good deal on yours. I've seen two inch vampire plecos sold for around $30 U.S. (quite expensive, I know*lol*), so a four inch pleco for less than that is a steal.
These plecos are usually pretty peaceful, except when kept with other bottom feeders (most notably other Loricariids). I don't actually know how well they get along with non-Loricariid catfish (like Corydoras catfish), but I do know that they don't appreciate similar-looking fish. For that reason, I don't suggest keeping vampire plecos in groups, or with other plecs. If you do want to keep them with other plecos, you should supply the fish with a lot of room and hiding places, so that they (the plecs) don't meet each other often. That will cut down on fights.

I recently bought one about 2 inches for $20. He's in a 50 gallon tank with community fish and 3 other plecs (Royal, Candystripe, and Red Fin Sternella)...and he's doing fine. All 4 plecs hang out in the same general area and I've never seen one scrum...strange but true.
