Ps Sorry for the poor quality of the Pic.

A subadult Pangasianodon hypophthalmus.

Thanks Silurus for the reaction.

When I look at this pic I see an adipose fin but my fish doesn't have that, so I presume it's not the same.

If you look carefully at your fish, you can see a small adipose fin (it seems to be folded back against the body). All pangasiids have an adipose fin.

I've taken new pictures of the fish in my tank.

Sorry but maybe I didn't explain myself right, the pic I used in the previous message was taken from the database from planetcatgfish and not of my fish. On that pic there was a adiposefin and my fish doesn't have that.
I presumed that is was a pangasius but now I see that it isn't but what is it then?

It's a completely chewed up Pangasius.....

Now I know what you meant by white/pink fin-edges, wich pointed me in a wrong direction; it's scartissue and pretty serious bacterial-infected area's..... :(

likely the adipose has suffered a similar fate; must be all those convicts using the ol' catfish as a "doggy-rubberbone" to chew on
:(

btw Convict = Cryptoheros/Archocentrus nigrofasciatus

You can see a small pale spot on the back of your fish. That's where the adipose would/used to be.

Thanks for the replies, now I know which fish it is. I need to find a new home for him because I've no tank I can keep it in. I have several large tanks but in all of them are only tanganyika fish.
The small tank it's in now is too small and also occupied by other fish I would like to keep.
