This thread covers the recent zebra shortage and consequent rise in price pretty thoroughly. They're basically worth whatever you're willing to pay for them, IMO. Supply and demand and what not.

Compared with north of Europe, it's a fair price. Sometimes you might find them a bit cheaper but often more expensive I think.

Wholesale prices seem to be right around $60-80. Retail prices are over $100 and I have even seen $200 a fish at a local store here in Ohio. Hope mine breed ASAP.

Actually the last two I saw wholesale were over 100 dollars each. One was from a wholesaler that has always had them at 70 dollars or less all year. The price has definitely jumped up again on them.

here in northern cali .they run around 120 usually.. and that's if the pet store carries them ( usually they dont)
100 euro is pretty good price. anything under 100 in my opinion is cheap.

I saw some 4 cm ones for 130.- euros recently and another lfs told me theyd have to sell them at around 200.- euros with the current wholesale prices, so they dont order any...
For that money you could buy a viable breeding group of any other available black/white Hypancistrus ssp.

I hear from several reputable sources that they are as of now officialy banned from export, one source was an exporter. So I guess they just went up.
