Quick question for you all, (and save me ploughing through the Cat-elog).

What's a good pleco for quoffing snails?

It's to go in a 40 gallon tank so preferably a species of no more than 4 to 5 inches.

Thanks

Ian

A little bit bigger than you wanted, though.

Both Leporacanthicus heterodon and L-263 Leporacanthicus cf. joselimai stay a bit smaller. Perhaps just over 6" long.

Both species are a bit harder to locate however.
In fact, the second species (L-263) appears only to show up as contamininants in shipments of L-264 Leporacanthicus joselimai.

I currently have all three species (in addition to Leporacanthicus galaxias) they all feed on the occasional snail to varying degrees. L-263 appears to do so the least (based on the snail population) but there are plenty of empty snail shells present.

Thanks for that.
Problem like you say is, it one thing deciding on the fish you want, then it's trying to find them.

Seem good choice as well, there's only mainly Oto's and peaceful barbs in the tank at present.
