General problems with forums, chat etc

I have noticed a couple of messages concerning forum and chat problems, these will have to be addressed by Rusty when he gets back.
I would not know where to start as he has modified one hell of a lot.
Has anyone else noticed it takes ages for the forums to load?
Is it just me?

I have noticed the slow loading problem as well, but it occurs randomly and affects all of Dreamhost's sites, not just the forum, so I don't think any amount of kicking and cursing will get it fixed. The php normally takes 0.2 seconds to generate, but I've seen it go up to 5 seconds when it's acting funky...

Takes nearly 30 seconds in real time for all the graphics to load on the main page.
Perhaps they should be called Nightmarehost if this is what happens.

FWIW
I have only experienced slowdowns when there has been web wide problems, not just PC. But, I have never had it take more than 3-4 seconds to show any page unless it has been accessing offsite images. I have a 600K cable connection at home.
I had actually been thinking how good the forums were. Maybe I have been lucky, maybe there are issues surrounding dowload speeds on a modem ?
In the last few days, there seems to have been a general slowdown in some areas of the US. I ran some diags one evening when it was particularly sluggish (but still only 3-4 secs) , and the problem was clearly in the US. I was getting good responses until i hit NY routers.
Does any of that help?
Phil.

Page generation time: 0.177648 seconds
On average the pages take 22 seconds to load even with my display preferences all turned off, even the PC logo takes about 15 seconds on its own.
Tis getting annoying.

The issues are downstream of dreamhost, I'm accessing them fine using dial-up. The page loads in a few seconds or instantly HOWEVER if I use my old demon internet dial-up I do notice the page takes maybe 10-15 seconds to load.
