What type of Royal is this?

Hi guys,

I was curious if someone could tell me what species this Royal is? He has been disceased for about three weeks now, but I still wabt to know what I had :cry:

L190 - panaque nigrolineatus

Thats why I ask, cause the pics in cat-e-log have so much variation. Often repeated as well.

Sorry to see you loose the fish.

The Cat-eLog has repetition because there are several L-numbers or names for the same fish. That's not the cat-eLog's fault.

The variation on a single fish is becuase these fish will look different in different light, at different stages of their life (some change colour quite dramaticaly from young to adult).

I think yours was a L190, P. Nigrolineatus.

Btw, did you have some REAL wood in the tank? If not, that may well be why it didn't make it. They need to eat some (quite a lot) of wood to make sure that their digestive system works as it should, as well as to get the right nutrients. Feeding them extra vegs is a good idea, but they still NEED to have real wood in the tank.

Yeah, there was a large piece driftwood that he seldom left from. I added about five plecos, waaaay too fast, and they just couldn't handle the stress :cry: I knew better, but I thought I could cheat. Learned my lesson, thats for sure.
