600 galls is a little bit on the small side for a 70cm fish, even a Gar (I have two 35cm Gars in an aquarium about the same volume, and they do make full use of the space, albeit at their own pace), but should be OK if given a coupe of nice 'ambush points'. What are the actual dimensions? If 2ft deep I make it about 6ft by 8ft. If less deep there will be even more surface area so the Gar would be OK with that.
The only thing I'd be wary of is the Cetopsis.
I'm not sure how often you'd see Trachycorystes or Asterophysus in a pond...

The pond is around 2 by 8 by 8. Will that pose a problem?

Should be good as long as it doesn't continue to grow. Surface area is more important than depth for Gars. Give it a nice water lily or clump of water hyacinth to sit under, and a good piece of half-sunken wood at the other side and it should make for a happy fish. Sure it's a Spotted and not an Alligator Gar?

If it's an alligator gar, I would never keep it in a 600 gallon pond.
