I seen a fish at my LFS that they called an Alvino pleco. I looked through the catalog here but was unable to find this "common" name in the list. If anyone knows what kind of pleco this might be could you please point me in the right direction to find some info on this fish?

Thank you in advance

Could it be a misspelling of Albino (V and B are close, and someone might have typed it wrong before it got to your LFS. Or it might be the fact that B when speaking spanish is pronounced more like V in english).

There's a couple of Albino Pleco listed under Common names in the Cat-eLog.

And I suppose it's not a Albine Bristlenose? They are probably the most common albino variant.

Hi Dave,

The Chaetostoma thomsoni is most likely the fish they had at the store. Thanks for the help in identifying it.
